If you’re still here, you’re supposed to be living.

Have you ever stopped doing something and not been able to get back into it? Some of you may have a hard time getting back to the gym, cleaning house, or eating right. Well for me, it was blogging. My blog has been on hiatus ever since the people around me started…passing away. To be honest, I just didn’t have anything uplifting to share. Just when I thought I was out of the woods, I was asked to MC the life celebration of my friend Steve Leong. And then my beautiful friend, Jenn Lyon, lost her battle with cancer.

Well, people will never be done dying. But I’m definitely done with my “hiatus.” I’ve managed to sort out what death means to me and get on with the business of living. It just took some time, advice from my true friends, and building a koi pond in my yard. I did keep up with occasional tweets which always show up on this page in the right column.

I have been a busy bee. I just finished working on an HBO pilot called Luck. The show is about horse racing and stars Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte. It was such a gift to work with Oscar nominated director Michael Mann. He pays close attention to every detail and guides actors to achieve their best performance. Working on a TV show usually involves a race to get the shot done on time. Working on Luck was about staying true to real life, carving out characters, and not just getting it done…but getting it right.

When Luck gets picked up, as I’m certain it will, I may likely become a recurring guest character. I auditioned for this show when I was on day 8 of my 10 day Master Cleanse. Which just goes to show that fasting does not sap you of energy. It actually makes you more focused and adds that extra sparkle to your presence.

I’ve done several modeling campaigns since the last time I checked in. The last print ad I shot was for Harrah’s casino. I also did a Wells Fargo ad. Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with listing them all.;P

On the manufacturing front, I’m a couple months away from launching Jeanne Chinn, Los Angeles (JCLA) handbags. It has been a learning experience to say the least. The website is currently under construction. You can sign up for the mailing list right now to find out when we go live. If my blogging is any indication of how many newsletters you’ll be receiving…you should feel safe signing up! I will not clog your email box! The thing that has kept me going has been my goal of raising money for dog and cat rescue. I can’t wait!
