What year are we living in?

Ching chong, ching chong, Rosie O’Donnell. Ching chong, ching chong, ignorant. Ching chong, ching chong, racist.Ching chong, ching chong, back handed apology.  Ching chong, ching chong….I don’t make fun of lesbians ‘cuz I know they are human beings like the rest of us.  Ching chong, ching chong, gung hay fat choy! That’s the only Chinese I know…other than my usual ching-chongings.

Crouching reindeer, hidden agenda.

Happy Holidays to all of you, my cherished friends.  I prefer to call you friends rather than fans.  I have to say I’m a bit overwhelmed at the moment.  I’ve been so good at smiling at life’s curve balls and trusting that they are hidden blessings, but today I’m done.  Today, you could call me the disillusioned idealist. I don’t hold people up to unrealistic standards. I’m someone who gets things done.  I keep my word and always think of how my actions affect others. Today it seems that the dog slobber-y selfish agendas of those around me are raining on my parade.  It stinks.  But they will learn, in their own time, that their drool is rude, disgusting, and tres unbecoming.

This season has also been filled with warm hugs, laughter, nature’s beauty, serendipity, and sweet notes from all of you.  These are the things that put a spring in my step and remind me of how truly fortunate I am.  It’s not about money, a new car, who I know, or all of my super cool technology that I haven’t the slightest idea how to use. It’s always about love.  So as you sit with your loved ones this holiday season, focus a little more on the feeling in your heart…and a little less on what’s inside that beautifully (or not so beautifully) wrapped box.  Do you have love in your life?  I hope so. I am grateful for the abundance of true love in mine.  If you are in need of a little more, close your eyes and imagine me filling your heart with all the love I can muster.

Oh, and have a rockin’ 2007.
